This year has been full of change
and exciting times for all VET providers.
A snapshot for VET in
2012:
1. All States and Territories will have referred their powers to
the National VET Regulator (apart from Victoria and Western
Australia - unless otherwise advised and conditions apply)
2. Audits will become a compliance nightmare for some RTOs that
have 'run under the compliance radar' and will certainly sort out
the wheat from the chaff, only the quality providers will prevail
and prosper
3. Domestic Tuition Assurance Scheme (TAS) should be approved by
2012 (cross fingers)
4. CRICOS providers will continue to aggressively railroad into the
domestic market, more local competition will result
5. Confidence will slowly return to the International Sector
6. The VET experience for students and stakeholders will be
significantly increased via improved standards of services provided
by quality providers
7. The ‘spider vain' effect of the changes in the International
Education Sector will be quantified, ($18billion industry in 2009 –
what effect has decoupling of permanent residency had on the
industry and our country?)
8. The NSSC will complete a broad scale review of the standards for
the registration of RTOs for both AQTF Essential Conditions and
Standards and the VET Quality Framework, (my thoughts: barriers to
entry for registration will increase)
9. Trainers must hold the TAE or demonstrate equivalent
competencies by 1st July 2013
10. Skynet Education and Ray Earl will continue to support RTOs
with their quality and compliance requirements.
